Your choice depends on what you intend to obtain from them. While the procedure for their use is the same, what you do after using them depends on their ingredients.
No. You don’t have to take a shower after a bath bomb.
However, if the bath bomb you used had a strong color, flower petals, strong oils or glitter, you can wash it off afterward with a shower.
A shower without soap is enough to clean to off any bath bomb remnants.
How To Use Bath Bombs Well
The steps to follow when using a bath bomb in your shower are as follows:
1. FILL THE BATHTUB WITH WATER
Start by plugging the bathtub outlet to prevent the water from simply flowing out.
Adjust the temperature of the water to your liking then let it fill the bathtub to a level of your choice. Turn off the power and water for the next step.
2. ADD THE BATH BOMB INTO THE WATER
Drop in your bath bomb and give it time to dissolve. You’ll notice some fizzing and bubbling as the bath bomb dissolves into the water.
Depending on the contents of tour bath bombs, you’ll notice the ingredients change the color of the water. With some bath bombs having flower petals or even leaves, you’ll notice these floating around.
You don’t need to stir the water since the contents of the bath bomb will spread by themselves in the water.
3. STEP INTO YOUR BATHTUB
Whether you choose to wait for the fizzing to stop or not, you can use the bathtub the moment you place it into the water.
If you’re afraid that some of the contents of your bathtub such as flower petals and leaves may clog your drainage system, you can use a porous bag. Wrap the bath bomb with the porous bag and drop it into the water.
This will keep the solid contents within the bag as the soluble ones dissolve into your water. You then only need to empty the bag into the dustbin once you’re done showering.
4. RELAX IN THE BATHTUB
As the bath bomb dissolves, it’ll release the beneficial contents into the water and unto your skin.
While in the bathtub, find a way of relaxing such as meditating, reading a book or other activity. You’re free to play with the water to ensure maximum contact with your skin.
Depending on the contents of your bath bombs, you may or may not allow the water into your hair. Most bath bombs have softening ingredients and colors which may change your hair color or texture temporarily.
Also, ensure that the contents of the bath bombs are not irritating to your skin. While most bath bombs have mild ingredients, those with sensitive skins need to know the exact ingredients in their bath bombs to avoid irritations.
5. LEAVE THE BATHTUB WHEN THE WATER COOLS
Once you’ve had enough relaxation, you should step out of the water before it becomes cold.
Waiting for too long will wrinkle your skin as the body tries not to lose heat to the water.
6. RINSE OFF THE REMNANTS
If you used a bath bomb with flower petals, glitter or other solids, you will need to wash it off your body by showering.
If your bathtub is independent of your shower stall, simply walk to the stall and wash your body with shower gel or other mild soap.
You don’t need to clean it off thoroughly as you’ll not receive all the benefits of the essential oils and salts in the bath bomb. Otherwise, drain the bathtub and have a shower there.
If your bath bomb didn’t have any solids and your skin feels fresh, there’s no need to rinse your skin. For most bath bombs, a soapless shower will do the trick.
7. CLEAN THE BATHTUB
Some bath bombs may leave remnants that stick to the sides of your bathtub. It’s advisable to clean them off while the bathtub is still wet as they’ll come off easily than when dry.
You can use a cleaning sponge to wash them off. If they still stick to the sides, use soap and a reasonable amount of water for the cleaning.
Bath bombs are that easy to use. Bigger ones can be cut into smaller pieces to be used with each bathing session. You can get any fragrance, color, shape, size and other aspects in your bath bomb. You can even make your own.
